Who We Are

At The Experience Publishers, we are committed to taking the 'high road.' We want our ideals of holism and social and environmental responsibility, our passion for quality, and our commitment to the creation of something meaningful to be expressed in everything we do. We aim to treat our authors, our customers, our staff, our suppliers, and the planet earth with the same courtesy, integrity and kindness as we would hope to receive ourselves.

 Publisher Malcolm Anderson

It was Malcolm Anderson's passion for writing that led him into the world of publishing. He is the author of running books, humour books and other fictional works. To Malcolm there is an immense amount of satisfaction in the act of creating, developing something out of nothing. This is clearly what writing and publishing a book are all about.

As a publisher, although he does not directly 'create' the words in the right order as the authors do, he nonetheless plays an active role in the aesthetics of the creative experience, enhancing the product itself and the engagement - the experience - of the reader. To that end, everyone in the production process plays a critical role, and Malcolm embraces teamwork in bringing a manuscript to print.

In addition to publishing and writing, Malcolm is active in other pursuits, including running and volunteer work with the InnovativeCommunities.Org Foundation, an international volunteer organization with a mandate to alleviate poverty and advance education through researching, developing and implementing innovative methods.

 Managing Editor Barbara Bell

Barbara is passionate about words, both spoken and written. She actively seeks excellence of thought and clarity of expression in her own writing and promotes them in the writing of others. Another way of saying this is that she is a nitpicker! This particularity makes editing the perfect vocation for Barbara, and she has been happily editing freelance since 1999.

A member of the Editors' Association of Canada, she is working  toward full certification. Barbara is very excited to be the managing editor of  The Experience Publishers.

In her other life, Barbara sits on the planning committee for Kingston WritersFest, a major literary festival held annually in Kingston, Ontario. She is a playwright and an actor, and is the host of Page Turners television bookclub on TV Cogeco.
